The Megger PD Scan is a lightweight handheld scanner for PD (partial discharge) surveying in MV and HV plants. With built in TEV and airbourne acoustic sensors it is perfect for use as part of your schedule for planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to catch early emanating partial discharge faults from switchgear and other electrical equipment before they become critical. There is a range of additional external sensors that the Megger PD Scan can auto-recognise via Plug n Play giving an even wider application use (e.g. cable insulation with the HFCT sensor, PD in encapsulated switchgears with the contact-probe sensor, and corona and surface discharge with the parabolic acoustic sensor). All versions come with an external temperature and humidity sensor as these parameters have a significant impact on PD readings. All test data is stored within the test file on the unit so no need to later manually add them in to any of your reports. The PD Scan is really easy to use as measurement data is automatically evaluated, interpreted and outcome displayed using a simple clever traffic light coloured face icon to indicate the level of PD detected (from green smiley face through to red sad face). Unit control is through the intuitive touch screen display or via the three soft-keys keypad. An on-board digital camera makes it easy to record and locate where readings were taken. It can also read QR codes so you can label up and identify your test points to maintain consistency and for asset data recognition. Detailed and individual test reports can be quickly generated using the supplied MeggerBook RE reporting software.
